Sainik School Coaching



Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Sainik Schools prepare young cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers. At present, there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools in our country.

Sainik Schools offer admission at the level of Class VI and Class IX. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).

Age limit


  • Girls and Boys seeking admission for Class VI should be 10-12 yrs of age as on 31 March in the year admission is being sought.
  • Boys seeking admission for Class IX should be aged 13-15 yrs as on 31 March in the year of admission. Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.


Reservation policy


  • 67% of the seats are reserved for candidates domiciled in the State/ UT where the Sainik School is located.
  • 33% of the seats are reserved for candidates from Other States and Union Territories (UT).
  • Within each Category of Home State/ UT and Other States/ UT quota, seats will be reserved on the following lines:
        1. (a) 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC)
        2. (b) 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST) and
        3. (c) 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer (OBC-NCL) as per the central list.




The objective of the Sainik Schools is to prepare the students to lead as officers in the Defence Services of our country. The schools select bright and promising students through an All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) and focus on moulding their overall personality along with an emphasis on extracurricular activities.


Sainik Schools environment allows cadets to develop their skills in sports, academics and other extracurricular activities. Infrastructure in Sainik Schools includes running tracks, cross-country tracks, indoor games, parade grounds, boxing rings, firing ranges, canoeing clubs, horse riding clubs, mountaineering clubs, trekking and hiking club, football, hockey and cricket fields, as well as volleyball and basketball courts. Compete in sports, physical training, academics, cross country, drill and various other competitions throughout the world.
